A fabulous night of curves, fashion, celebrities, and searching for a cure! That was the headlining mission for this year’s Curves for a Cure Runway Show at Full Figured Fashion Week. Held at the beautiful Affinia Hotel, the Fitzgerald Ballroom was filled with movers and shakers in the plus size fashion industry and was lined with unbelievable pieces that were featured in the show. The pink carpet was alive, the models breathtaking, and the ballroom was glittering with flashing lights and live music.
The ballroom was decorated in fluorescent purple and pink lights highlighting the Breast Cancer Awareness theme with a sense of femininity from the soft colors and flashing lights. Each seat housed its own goodie bag with little products from various sponsors and event vendors. The back of the ballroom welcomed each guest with cheese, crackers, and fruit as well as a FULL bar and signature cocktail to wash down the delightful appetizers with. The signature cocktail, dubbed the name “Sonsitinis” was a delicious blend of a green apple and vodka martini, made especially for Curves for a Cure provided by event sponsor Sonsi.
Toy Monique, the official Face of FFF 2013, did an impeccable job of hosting the runway show as she graced the audience at her post at the top of the runway. Monique is no stranger to when it comes to keeping the audience hyped up and alive with her bubbly personality.
Models included Lucille O’Neal (Shaq’s mom), Yolanda Moore (Two-time WNBA Champion) , Marie Denee (The Curvy Fashitonista), Gwen DeVoe (founder and CEO of FFFWeek), Rosie Mercado, and Kaela Humphries. Each model worked the runway like a pro and had the crowd roaring with cheers and whistles. It was a truly a glorious night of HOT full figured fashion in honor of a very noble cause to raise awareness and find a cure for breast cancer.
